Agreed. The GUI interface on the ASA’s are much more OS forgiving. I think this has more to do with the underlying Java the PDM uses rather than the Vista Operating System. Either way, the ASA’s are far superior to the PIX’s. I’ll be posting some new videos with the ASA’s GUI in the next few weeks.
One thing I want to point out, if you have the client and need the “Start Before Logon” feature in the VPN client, it will not work with Vista. Cisco is pointing their finger at Microsoft. There is no ETA for a fix, and it seems the design team could care less about it. The only answer is buy an ASA firewall.
This tutorial covers client based VPN only. A point-to-point VPN tutorial will be coming soon. I’m considering adding audio to the tutorials as well.
Your videos are pretty detailed even without audio though it would be nice to have it, are you setting up both a point to point vpn and remote client access config.
