How do I tell which port I am using on a Cisco 3560 switch?
How can I tell which port I am using on a Cisco 3560 switch. There are two rows, which are the even numbered ports and which are the odd numbered ports?

i don’t know the cisco 3560 switch and how many port it has but in normal switch it’s first port is start from 1
they should be numbered but it goes left to right then down and left to right so 1-12 on top starting from left then 13-24 on bottom from left to right. (i’m assuming its a 24 port switch but the layout is the same whichever it is)
Actually, the two rows are numbered with 1 being the top left most port and 2 being located under 1 being the bottom left most port. Then 3 is on top and 4 on the bottom and so on. So odd numbers will be the top row and even numbers located on the bottom row.
If you can’t tell which port you’re plugged into just note all of the ports that have links and then unplug your pc. The link light will go off and you can guess that thats your port.
Unplug your PC and see whaich light goes out.
The 3560 comes in numerous port configurations, lets say you have a 48 port version of the switch. The ODD ports are on top, the EVEN ports are on the bottom. If you just wanted to know your port, and have access to the switch, find your MAC address and go to the switch and enter “show mac-address-table address H.H.H” – this will tell you your specific port.
Hope this helps.
