It shows that you have a strong understanding of networking… Good if you’re working on multiplayer games. The guys that do all the data transfer code need to know how to do efficient networking code to make it work ok. However you’ll need several other qualifications to prove that you can do other stuff. You’re probably best taking a 3d graphics course and a programming course as well.

On it’s own not very good, but as part of a package of qualifications it will help you get the job you want.

Cisco is simply a networking certification. It really has nothing to do with graphic design. Sorry .:(

    It won’t be incredibly useful.

However, it might help you with one aspect of many of the
most popular video games: Multiplayer games and how they
    handle network latencies.

You would be able to setup testbeds more readily, and help
make suggestions for how to improve what information is
transmitted when and how to most efficiently use the
    intervening network.

The certificate is certainly indication that you have some
familiarty with network administration – which could well
be how you get your foot in the door at gaming companies.

Network Administration skills are ALWAYS needed.

Why don’t you use the Cisco Certification for a job in networking such as network administrator or network engineer and then work your way as a freelancer in game design to the gaming industry? The gaming industries is in Los Angeles and New York but there is alot of competition so doing freelance will help you get in.

    Schools you should consider….

University of Advancing Technology – top game design school
International Academy of Design & Technology
    DeVry University
    Digital Media Arts College
    Collins College
    The Academy of Digital Animation
    Michigan State University
    Champlain College
