The network I have sucks and I’m in the Marine Corps going overseas and want to call my girlfriend from time to time. Also when I come back I want to have good network coverage. If anyone could help me with this it be much appreciated. Merry Christmas!

    Create a video blog…instantly.

Verizon does, no doubt there. A recent yahoo news article even stated verizon is the best service

    No provider is worldwide.

T-mobile is closest, as they have a presence in a number of countries, but AFAIK, they are operated as individual providers, so roaming and phone locking may apply.

In any case, choose a GSM based provider, for that is what most of the world uses for their mobile phone service.

    network

I’d say the best thing for you to do is get Verizon and ask for a world edition phone. This will allow you to use it in almost every international country, but will also allow you to use it in the U.S. Verizon has the best service in the U.S. and with a world edition phone, you can carry the coverage across the globe. Thanks for helping us as a Marine!

Verizon has the best network in the USA IMO, but that being said if you travel world wide you need a world phone. The best world phone is the Blackberry Storm. The Storm comes with all the technology built into it to work on any network in the world.
    Verizons Storm supports Dual–band 800/1900 MHz CDMA/EV–DO Rev. A networks; Quad–Band: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks Single–Band: 2100 MHz UMTS/HSPA networks.
If you go with AT&T be prepared for a outrageous bill when you get home. Especially if you use the Internet.
    Hope that helps some
